7VKQ086 in the sun.

Reflecting ghostly light like a mirror.

Blue letters scream your name to all who pass

While playful red script affirms where you live--

Golden State. Land of Honey, Fruit, and Wine.

A black convertible wears you with pride,

Glides past others adorned with milk-white tags

Like you, but not you, a variant in

The sheer sunbeams of the Gulf Coast.

Arrivals. Departures. Ticketing. Stop.

Placards scream at you from all directions,

Your convertible host is unfazed by

These spectral voices, continuing past.

United finally gets its attention,

Your revolver-black car now signals right--

Breaking free from the daisy-chain of cars

Directionless in the sea of voices.

You come to a stop between two others.

Pontiac and Cadillac serve as your

Temporary neighbors beneath the dull

Midnight sheen of United. Departure.

7VKQ086 going home.

Westward Departure.
Heading westward. Going home.
