City of Angels

Admit this tiny itty bit

Before you commit and lose your wit

When you sit through it, no exit

Quit the habit, commit to it

Assist it, watch it flitter like a kite

Alit, it pitches upward—new altitudes in sight

Little by little, it will permit you to edit your latitude

It will ignite a bit of insanity in you

As you sit and endure it, wait for it.

It’s worth it, prove your maturity.

It’ll help rewrite your infinitely unlimited future

Situation improved, you’ll exit, quit, with all your wits

It is a dream that many write on gritty bits of paper

It is an oddity, an immediate new title for your script

Can the humidity, change your digits and commit to Lagunitas.

It might benefit you to go and chase it, embrace it

Let it take you on a 2,639 mile expedition across forests and straits

Westward, it leads you like a lit candle, red glow of an exit

Do not throw a fit, just let it carry you through the grit,

Let it ignite your creativity and foster more positivity

Hold it, cradle it, cherish it, but never leave it.

Let it take you to your city.

The City of Angels.

Situation rewritten.

SoCal's most interesting poetry prompt.
This poem is an experimental challenge from my teacher, to write as many words with the -it sound in one piece as possible.
